Dr. Carol Amaratunga holds an MSc in Agricultural Extension and Economics and a PhD in Adult Education.  She is currently the Dean of Applied Research at the Justice Institute of British Columbia.   With a background in rural health, she has 30 years of research and public policy experience in Canada, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean and has served as an advisor to the UN, CIDA, IDRC, and the World Bank.  Her research focuses on women’s health and disaster management.
